Martingale is probably the oldest betting system. The oldest and in the meantime the simplest one which is about increasing the stakes of your consecutive bets.
How does martingale work?
The main idea of the system is to double the stake of bets in case of losing the previous one until the moment when you get the winning bet. Any time you win you get a compensation for all losses from previous bets and a profit of a first bet.
Guidelines of the martingale system.
Let's see how it works on an example.
At first we pick an event with rate at least 2.0 (meaning for every dollar put on a bet you get 2 dollars).
At now how the system works.
We choose the start stake, e.g. 5€.
1. We bet 5€, if we win bet another 5€ till we loose, then we double our stake to 10€.
2. If we win at 10€ we come back to the starting point and bet 5€, in case of a loss we bet 20€.
3. If we win at 20€ we come back to the starting point and again bet 5€, in case of a loss we bet 40€.
Etc...
In any time when we win we make up for the loss from former bets and we gain the starting stake (5€), which depicts the following comparison:
1. 5€ win -> whole contribution 5€, win 10€
2. 5€ loss 10€ win -> whole contribution 15€, win 20€
3. 5€ loss 10€ loss 20€ win -> whole contribution 35€, win 40€
Etc...
The only boundary may be the amount of money you have. While playing with this system you have to be aware that you might lose a few consecutive bets and you need finances to double the stake. If you have less money you can just start from a lower starting stake and try it. Presuming that with a 2.0 rate we have about 50% chance of winning. Generally, the system makes use of the lowering probability of a consecutive series of losses. The method is mainly used with so-called "singles" - bets consisting of a single event - to minimize the risk of loss. The system can be used both by users who base on mathematic rules as well as by people basing on their sport knowledge - thanks to this you can additionally decrease a chance of a long series of losses.
