8 June 2008 20:45 Germany 2-0 Poland
Pick: 1 Odd: 1.57: Ladbrokes
The German team not only is the main favourite but is said to have good chances for a final win in Euro 2008 as well. So “Polish” group will not be such easy as it seemed. Germany will certainly want to take revenge for the failure on World Cup which they organized. In this game Poland should not seek chances for earning points but from two next team games. I reckon German national team is too good for White and Red. All is however possible as Poland has already dealt with the Czechs and did not lose in qualifications any game with strong Portugal. We will see how it is going to be on EURO but I bet on Germans in this game.
12 June 2008 18:00 Croatia 2-1 Germany
Pick: 1X Odd: 1.77: Bwin
This for sure is the most interesting game in the group B where Poland plays as well. If this was the last round of group phase, then we could have said that this really would be a game for nothing, however these teams will meet in second match what gives the various possibilities standing in the table after this fixture. Germany, which is said to be in the group of favourites for winning this tournament, seems to be favourites of this clash. Every formation of this team is really gifted. The same can be said about Croatian national team, which created a big consternation in Europe lately. However the Croats morale can be strongly damaged with the lack of Eduardo who is recovering from injury. Nevertheless there are also great players similar to Eduardo, such as Modric or Krancjar, who with the rest of players can cause real trouble for the Germans, that is why I bet on Croats with support.
16 June 2008 20:45 Austria 0-1 Germany
Pick: 2 Odd: 1.45: Interwetten
The hosts of the tournament after a draw with Poland retained their chances of qualifying form the group but, don’t fool yourself, everybody knows that Austrians have no chances of winning with Germans and draw does not give them anything. The situation would have been completely different if Germany hadn’t lost with Croatian national team which won 2 : 1. Germany was completely broken down in this game but after a lost goal they managed to put Croatians under pressure and scored an honourable goal by Podolski. Now Podolski is a joint top scorer with Villa. I think that Germany will not let be pushed to defence by Austria, which in this game will have to take huge risks as only win gives them anything. Situation should rather be opposite and Germany should more often attack a goal defended by Macho, whose play improves with every game but yet is far from world-class goalkeeping. Germany will probably want to score a quick goal which will allow them to secure a win. So now only a victory against Germans in this game saves Austria and it will be very tough. Germany is a strong favourite and even playing at home won’t help Austrian team.
